CHHAs play a critical role within the home. CHHAs are the care specialists to care for the patient once the additional care for a loved one becomes necessary.
Visiting Angels of Scotch Plains Training Academy provides an educational program to become a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) in the State of New Jersey.
Our programs are approved by the New Jersey Board of Nursing. Our highly qualified Registered Nurses will guide you every step of the way facilitating successful course completion and licensing.

We offer 100% tuition reimbursement by joining our Visiting Angels of Scotch Plains Home Health Agency team after receiving licensing and becoming an official Angel. (Terms Apply)
Phone Interview and In person interview is required before confirming seat after pre- registering. You will receive a call after pre-registering for the class or call Visiting Angels of Scotch Plains @ 908-322-0055 to schedule a phone interview after pre-registering. If seats are filled, please check back periodically for seat cancellations as seats may become available.
Course:
Classes run 8 weeks per session. Labs are once a week and are between 2 to 4.5 hours in time.
8-week hybrid course with 1 in-person lab per week (every Saturday 2 to 4.5 hours per class)
Training includes 60 hours of interactive videos, lectures, and quizzes. 10 hours per week of online classes required to be completed over a 6 week period. Also 16 hours of in-person lab over the 8-week period.
24/7 access to training course over the 8-week period from anywhere on any smart device.
100% Tuition Reinbursement available. (Terms Apply Below)
Applicant will receive full reimbursement for the cost of tuition "only". (All other fees obtained by applicant is applicant’s responsibility).
Accept employment with VASP and complete orientation process.
Applicant will receive 25% of tuition reimbursement with every 100 hours of service completed with VASP.
400 hours of service with VASP must be completed to obtain full tuition reimbursement.
Employment is guaranteed upon meeting background check, reference check, medical requirements and other credentials required to be hired by VASP. (If failure to meet requirements for employment, tuition will not be reimbursed).
Employment hours are not guaranteed (depends on clients and caregiver’s availability).
Caregiver is not required to solely work for Visiting Angels of Scotch Plains upon receiving CHHA license through the Board of Nursing of New Jersey (will not receive reimbursement for hours of service completed with other agencies).
Reimbursement Qualifications
Applicant must obtain CHHA license through the Board of Nursing of New Jersey. (If denied CHHA license by the Board of Nursing, tuition will not be reimbursed).
Present paid in full receipt for the cost of tuition.
Reimbursement Disqualifications:
Termination: due to absentee, tardiness, misconduct against client, insubordination, theft, underperforming of services, policy violations, and any other reason VASP deem necessary to terminate at VASP sole discretion.
Resigning: upon resigning caregiver forfeits all future tuition reimbursements.
